The Cultural Council presents Duval County artists with a unique opportunity. Our new board member, Adriel Rocha, is the Community Relations Manager for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He recently presented us with an exciting fundraising and awareness raising opportunity to take place during the upcoming, national NFL Draft celebration online. This event not only has the potential to raise funds for the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, but also give the participating artists a great deal of national and local media attention. The Jaguars organization has donated 20 footballs to us to provide to artists living and working in Duval County to paint in their personal style, in order to be auctioned off at NFL Auction.com during NFL Draft week in late April. The base pay for the project is $250 + 25% of the final auction price. Due to the nature of the auction and timing, payment for painting the balls will take place after the end of the auction, in May. We realize that this is a long time to wait for payment, but our hope is that the balls will sell very well and you will ultimately receive more than the base amount, up to approximately $635, as well as a fair amount of exposure. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, February 24th. The deadline for the completed ball is March 23, 2021. Please direct any questions to Ashanta@culturalcouncil.org
