Jacksonville Historical Society, Collections Manager

The Jacksonville Historical Society is hiring a temporary, full-time collections manager funded by a grant. The collections manager will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and managing the extensive archives of the society. In addition he/she will oversee part-time employees, interns, and volunteers who work in the archives.
Position requirements:

  • BA in archival studies, museum studies, history, or related field. MA preferred.
  • Minimum two years of registration or archives experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of collections management practices, registration methods, and object handling in an archival or museum setting.
  • Knowledge of Past Perfect software desired.

Cathedral Arts Project, Business Manager

The Business Manager position is responsibile for bookkeeping operations of a $1 million organization, to include accounts payable, accounts receivable, timesheets and 1099’s, bank reconciliations and monthly payroll.

The Business Manager is responsible for producing weekly and monthly financial reports for the Executive Director; for overseeing insurance quotes/policy renewals and tangible property inventories; for working with the auditor to produce support documentation for annual audit. The Business Manager is also responsible for additional accounting and bookkeeping functions that would be considered usual and customary for a non-profit organization and communicating all aspects of the bookkeeping position with all its information in a timely manner to the Executive Director.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable
• Record Payroll, Unemployment Compensation, Taxes
• Processing Contract employees timesheets and 1099’s
• Insurance quotes/policy renewals
• Liaison with Auditor
• Generate weekly/monthly financial reports from QuickBooks Pro

Qualifications: * Must be Proficient in QuickBooks Pro.
• Non-profit experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge and experience using MS Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Works well in team environment, willing to do whatever needs to be done.

Education and experience: Minimum High School Diploma with training in accounting/bookkeeping. College degree is preferred. At least 2 years full charge bookkeeping experience.

Cathedral Arts Project, a leading provider of free, ongoing and standards-based afterschool programming in the visual and performing arts on the First Coast, is seeking a dance instructor and a violin instructor for the 2009-2010 school year. Instructors teach two classes twice a week beginning at 3:15 p.m. Teachers are well compensated and have a generous budget for supplies and some planning time. Teaching experience is required and a background check is required.

Cathedral Arts Project – Guest Artists

The Cathedral Arts Project is seeking qualified visual artists, photographers and folk artists to enhance CAP’s programming in elementary school classes with innovative, short term projects. Guest artists will spend one or two afternoons in each class. The intents is to expose students to unique skills or projects that will augment standard curriculum. i.e. claymation, computer art, weaving, jewelry-making, pottery, bookbinding, silk screening, etc.
